Labour's Nora Mulready condemned over support for Scottish government's release of al-Megrahi

Nora Mulready, Labour's candidate for Harringay Ward and PA to MP David Lammy, has been condemned for her strong support on Twitter for the release of Libyan terrorist Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi from a Scottish prison on 'compassionate grounds'

al-Megrahi was the only person convicted in the Pan Am jet explotion over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 270 people.

Justin Hinchcliffe, Chairman of Tottenham Conservatives, also on Twitter, commented, "Like Barack Obama and David Cameron, I was horrified by his release and home welcoming. He is a very dangerous and wicked man who has shown no remorse for the 270 people he blew up over the skies of Lockerbie. Life should mean life in such cases. Perhaps Ms Mulready was speaking for Labour and, in particular, David Lammy, a government minister, whom she works for? Gordon Brown's silence on this issue has been truly deafening. Perhaps Nora Mulready said what a good number of Labour ministers think? With people like Nora Mulready on Haringey Council, it won't be long before we're given the 'loony-left' tag again".
