Commenting on the news that the Ward's Corner Coalition lost their first attempt in the Royal Courts of Justice to have the demolition of the historic building overturned on the basis that the Chair of Planning, Cllr. Sheila Peacock, had pre-judged the application (thus breaking basic planning guidance), Sean Sullivan the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Tottenham said:
"I was saddened and disappointed by this decision and hope that it will be reversed. The Labour-run council is hell-bent on wrecking a thriving community and forcing people from their homes and jobs in the process. I was pleased to be able to give the Coalition free legal advice and financial support. If they decide to appeal, I will do so again. In the meantime, my thoughts are with those traders, employees and residents who are directly affected by this bizarre ruling.''
