Isaac Revah, local resident and community champion chosen for Seven Sisters 15/12/08

Seven Sisters Conservatives have proudly selected local resident Isaac Revah to be their candidate for the by-election in the Seven Sisters Ward, Haringey, which will be held on Thursday 15th January, 2009.

Isaac, 43, is married to Tanya and they have seven young children (plus two guinea pigs and a rabbit). They live in Wargrave Avenue, in the heart of the community that Isaac wishes to represent on Haringey Council.  Isaac runs a small, but successful, IT company and many of his clients live and work locally, too! He is also the Administrator at the Crowland Road Synagogue and enjoys photography.

Isaac’s top ten priorities as a councillor will be:

·         Calling on the Labour-run Council to find ways to reduce the Council Tax, which is far too high (the third highest anywhere in London!)

·         Supporting the traders and residents of Ward’s Corner

·         Working with Conservative colleagues in Barnet to extend the 210 bus service to Seven Sisters (which currently runs from Finsbury Park to Golders Green via Brent Cross)

·         Working with Conservative councillors in Hackney to get Haringey to re-open Hillside Road, on the borough border, for cars and banning heavy goods vehicles (it is currently the other way round!) and opposing the narrowing of Seven Sisters Road

·         Giving the Friends of Markfield Park all the support that they deserve and need

·         Opposing the erection of unwanted bus stops outside people’s homes on the 318 route (the flexible ‘hail and ride’ system works well)

·         Ensuring that our Social Services Department is free from paper-filling and political correctness and that the borough’s children are safe, secure and happy

·         Supporting popular local faith schools from Labour and Lib Dem attacks

·         Cleaning up our council estates – those caught dumping or making life unpleasant for their neighbours should be brought to book

·         Supporting a review of the controlled parking zone (CPZ) throughout Seven Sisters
