From Justin Hinchcliffe, Chairman of Tottenham Conservatives:
"I was extremely sad to hear of the death of Cllr. Fred Knight yesterday. Fred (and his late wife Bella) were known and admired by many local Conservatives who will be sorry to hear of his passing. It was always a pleasure to see Fred, and even though his health was failing in recent years, he was the sort who always made an effort and did his duty. As recently as last Sunday, it was good to see him at the Remembrance reception at the Royal British Legion. Fred's was a life of public service to his local community. Fred and Bella together defined the roles of Mayor and Mayoress of Haringey, serving in those roles with pride and distinction on several occasions. His death is a great loss to the civic life of this borough."
