Local Conservatives are this week demanding that Haringey Council urgently replaces rotten windows in Lawrence Close, a small cul-de-sac in between West Green Road and Philip Lane, Tottenham
Justin Hinchcliffe, Chairman of Tottenham Conservatives, said: "Residents have been in touch with us to alert us to the fact that their wooden window frames so are rotten, they cannot even open them. We're looking at a major health and safety issue here. The government has given Haringey money to spend on raising standards in council-owned homes, but many residents from across Tottenham are still waiting to see basic improvements. What makes the Lawrence Close situation worse is that the residents' local councillor is Isidoros Diakides - the Lead Member for Housing! We urge Labour-run Haringey to replace these windows as a matter of priority".
