David Lammy, the Labour MP for Tottenham and culture minister, has been slamned by the Chairman of Tottenham Conservatives for failing to turn up to the AGM of HarinGAY, a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender social group, where he accepted an invitation to be their guest speaker as the local MP.
Justin Hinchcliffe commented: One of his own councillors asked him to be the guest speaker. He accepted the invitation, but failed to turn up. People had made an effort to attend to hear their MP. Lammy may have a good reason for his no-show, but he had the contact numbers of several of the attendees. He could have made a phone call on his mobile. We were sat there waiting around like lemons. I am sure thats his failure to attend the meeting and his lack of manners have cost him a few votes."
