Local Conservatives congratulate their Jamaican counterparts, the JLP, on poll win 04/09/07

Tottenham Conservatives have expressed delight that their Jamaican counterparts, the Jamaican Labour Party (JLP), won this week’s general election over their socialists rivals, the PNP.

Richard Reynolds, himself of Jamaican descent and Deputy Chairman of Tottenham Conservatives, commented:

“I think I speak for many Tottenham residents, some of whom participated in the Jamaican general election, in congratulating Bruce Golding’s JLP. The PNP, like Labour here, took the people for granted for 18 years.”

Conservatives claim that everyday problems in Jamaica are identical to problems here and include high crime and unemployment

Bruce Golding’s JLP took 31 out of the 60-seat Parliament and defeated Portia Simpson Miller, the PNP Prime Minister of the last eighteen months
