Haringey Council has written to every resident in the borough giving them the option of registering to vote on-line, but local Conservatives can today reveal that the website doesnt exist!
Justin Hinchcliffe, of Haringey Conservatives and a Tottenham resident, explained:
I thought I would save the council a few pence by registering on-line, saving them the cost of a pre-paid envelope. I was astonished to find that the websites address doesnt work and never has done! Although one can still register and re-register by phone and post, its clear that Labour-run Haringey couldnt organise a booze up in a brewery.
The Council has blamed technical difficulties for the site being "out of service".
