Labour Council writes to every resident in Haringey to promote dead website 15/08/07

Haringey Council has written to every resident in the borough giving them the option of registering to vote on-line, but local Conservatives can today reveal that the website doesn’t exist!

Justin Hinchcliffe, of Haringey Conservatives and a Tottenham resident, explained:

“I thought I would save the council a few pence by registering on-line, saving them the cost of a pre-paid envelope. I was astonished to find that the website’s address doesn’t work – and never has done! Although one can still register and re-register by phone and post, it’s clear that Labour-run Haringey couldn’t organise a booze up in a brewery.”

The Council has blamed “technical difficulties” for the site being "out of service".
