A community campaigner in Tottenham has urged residents, especially pensioners and the disabled, to take extra care when travelling to or past Coombe's Croft Library in the Tottenham High Road. Tree roots have cracked and damaged the paving slabs making the pavement dangerously uneven.
Justin Hinchcliffe, who lives nearby and is the Chairman of Tottenham Conservatives, comments: "This isn't a recent problem, but it's rapidly getting worse. Ironically, it is where the local councillors have their weekly advice surgeries. They can't have failed to spot the problem. Somebody is going to get seriously hurt, the Council will be sued and they will only have themselves to blame. I urge the Council to act quickly to remedy the situation to avoid these outcomes".
