News that the Tottenhams oldest house is to be renovated with funds from English Heritage and the Haringey Building Preservation Trust has been warmly welcomed by Tottenham Conservatives.
The proposals are to restore the Grade II-listed building at 810 Tottenham High Road, which dates back to 1715 and is of outstanding architectural and historic interest, back to a residential home.
Justin Hinchcliffe, a resident, campaigner and Chairman of Tottenham Conservatives, welcomed the news: We have long argued that this house should be restored to its former glory. Its really sad that Haringey Council took so long to seek help to restore this architectural gem. Its vitally important that the new residents are taught to value the buildings historical and architectural importance.
