Deborah Cohen, Head of Mental Health in Haringey, talks to Tottenham Conservatives on local mental health provisions 04/10/05

Deborah Cohen, Head of Mental Health Services for Enfield-Haringey spoke tof Tottenham Conservatives at a recent Seminar.

Ms. Cohen spoke to the Seminar about the provision of NHS services for Haringey patients with mental health problems.  Tottenham Conservatives have been campaigning for better provision -- having been made aware of the cutback in local services with the closure of the St. Ann's facility over two years ago.

Peter Sartori and Paulette Case-Robinson who formed the Users Group to fight the closures also attended the meeting, putting some tough questions to Ms. Cohen.  "Ms. Cohen was very informative," says Lydia.  "She is very committed and absolutely sincere but she is at the mercy of the funding and administrative mess created by both the Parliamentary Labour Party and locally, Haringey Labour.  Meanwhile we have the greatest need for mental health provision in Tottenham and just about the lowest available care."
