Membership up under Howard

The Tottenham Conservative Association says that there has been a surge in their membership following Michael Howard's election as leader, with a a membership buildup approaching 1992 figures.

Commenting on the news, Lydia Rivlin, Chairman of Tottenham Conservative Association, said:

"People of all ages, backgrounds and ethnic origins are joining. It is amazing how wide this Labour Council's inefficiency and the Government's stealth taxes are spreading the misery, it doesn’t matter if you are running your own business, employed by someone else, or on a pension. No-where is safe and people are starting to realise that.   They are turning to us because we can provide workable alternatives.

In June there'll be elections to the London Assembly and the European Parliament as well as the Mayoralty and we intend to get a record number of Conservatives elected."
