Following the Annual General Meeting of Tottenham Conservatives, which was held on Thursday 5th June at the party's Bruce Grove HQ, a new team has been elected. Lydia Rivlin, the new Chairman, is a writer and designer who stood in Haringey's Fortis Green Ward in May 2002 and she has since been active in Tottenham's Harringay Ward.

William MacDougall, a Haringey councillor from 1998-2002, makes a political comeback as Tottenham Conservatives' Deputy Chairman (Political) after stepping down from Haringey Council in 2002 due to an increase in work responsibilties.

Caesar Lalobo, the Secretary of the Broad Water Farm Residents' Association, was elected Deputy Chairman (Membership) after leading Conservative Future, the party's local youth wing.

Justin Hinchcliffe, the retiring Chairman, has taken on the position of Deputy Chairman (Fund-raising and Media).

The following people were re-elected: Baroness Miller of Hendon MBE  (President), Ada Gang-Devi (Treasurer), Lloyda Fanusie (Women's Chairman), and Patricia Salim (Secretary). Jean Farmer and Kshitis Das are this year's two honorary Vice-Presidents.

Tottenham Conservatives will now work hard, not only to take Haringey Labour to task for its many failings but also to get Steve Norris, Peter Forrest and the Top-Up-List and European candidates elected in next year's GLA, Mayoral and European elections.

Said Lydia Rivlin: "Haringey is waking up to the damage the Labour Party is doing, with the Liberal Democrats happy to go along for the ride.  Haringey residents see the Conservatives as the only people willing to take on the task of repairing that damage."

William MacDougall added:  "I am looking forward to holding Haringey Council to account as I did when I was a local councillor. Just two Conservatives--Peter Forrest and I--were more active opponents of the Labour Party than the weak and ineffective Liberal Democrat councillors Haringey has now, even though there are FIFTEEN of them. Haringey people want a real opposition and that's what we intend to provide."
